Its okay to go the DIY route if you can roll up your sleeves and do a balancing act on the ladder, or transfer that compost to the other end of the yard. Better still you could ask your jobless nephew to do it for next to nothing. True, this will cut down  your home improvement costs for the interim but will cost you much more in the long term.  If you are like most of the folk out there, hiring a professional is a better option.
